2011 Ford Explorer

For months now, Ford has been posting little snippets of parts of the new 2011 Ford Explorer. It looks like this is quite the makeover! The Explorer will no longer be on a truck frame. The parts that you can see look very nice and what they have written about it (like the HUGE increase in fuel mileage) would indicate a mass of improvements.

I have always liked the Explorer because it is very practical and versatile. It is safe, hauls boats, trailers, people, makes trips to the ski resorts etc. It has a good solid ride and is quiet.

Ford says the new Explorer will be all of this and much more. They plan to unveil it in Manhattan on Monday with Ford CEO Alan Mulally and Dirty Jobs Mike Rowe (says he).

The Explorer will be lighter, more fuel efficient and more of a crossover. It has many new safety features. The 2011 Explorer will feature highlights such as inflatable rear seatbelts, terrain management system, curve control, collision warning with brake support and many more electronic nannies that will help save your bacon.

Vaughn Gittin Jr. leading in points

Vaughn Gittin Jr. did well at Monroe Raceway this last weekend at the Formula Drift Round 4 and retains his heavy points lead for the Championship. With qualifying in 1st place and a 9th place finish overall, Vaughn and the Monster Energy/Falken Tire Ford Mustang were able to accomplish the goal of leading the points chase after completing more than half of the 2010 Formula Drift season.

This is an amazing car and driver to watch! This supercharged Mustang really is exciting. Visit the Vaughn Gittin Jr. website for the latest information.
